1. Recommendations are "beginning points" only and YOU will need to make changes to feel comfortable in your car to fit your driving style. Get a "feel" of the car and then make changes in an one area at a time. This will help you, "the driver", to understand what the adjustment did and how it affected your race car.
2. Accurate records can help eliminate the "what should i try now" syndrome. Always remember, "what may work for another driver may not work for you." Keep good records of what was done at each racetrack and you can you them at a point for reference.
3. KNOW YOUR CAR!!!!!! Laziness and ignorance are two main common factors for a driver's poor performance. Know your car inside and out. If you don't, it makes it hard to communicate to others what you have done to your race car and exactly how the car is working.
4. Maintain Your Car! "The key to get to victory lane, starts in the garage!" a longtime racer and friend Randy Wilson always told me. Make sure you have spent your "time in the garage" before you head to the racetrack. Its to late to do it at the track. That time should be used for observing track conditions and making minor adjustments to the race car.
